On behalf of the Winnipeg Pin Collectors Club, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. May you be blessed with good health, prosperity and much happiness. The Winnipeg Pin Collectors Club has something to offer people of all ages from youths to adults to seniors.
This year the pin club is celebrating its 34th Anniversary. The pin club continues to grow and prosper thanks to ongoing support from our regular and corporate members as well as from the many new members who have joined our pin club in the past year. Our international pin club has members living throughout Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom, Denmark, France & Germany.
Due to Covid-19, the year 2020 did not turn out the way everyone in the world had expected. All of us remain optimistic for the year 2021 that the vaccines that are currently available will restore us back to a semblance of a more normal life in the months to come.
Our 2021 club pin has the theme of Days Gone By. It features an old black steam engine being filled up with grain in front of a bright red grain elevator. New pin club members have the opportunity to either select one 2021 pin in a choice of four colors as part of their $20.00 membership dues or pay $40.00 for their membership dues and receive a complete set of four limited edition 2021 pins that represent the colors of the four seasons of the year i.e. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.
Only 100 pins were produced for each season which makes the pin set a very limited production. We are very close to selling out of these four pin sets. As has been done in the past, Laurie Artiss the Pin People are the producers of our club pins. They have a reputation for excellence throughout the world which is very important to people who value having high quality pins in their collections.
Rare Limited Edition Breakfast Club Four Pin Set – As a special surprise, the Executive of the pin club is currently working on the design for an anniversary four pin set of Breakfast Club pins for the years: 2005 (1st breakfast), 2010 (5th Anniversary), 2015 (10th Anniversary) & 2020 (15th Anniversary). The pins will feature a polar bear, a wolf & a cougar on each pin. Only 75 pins will be made of each anniversary pin. The new pin set is expected to become available in the Spring of 2021. If you wish to pre-order one of these pins or a complete limited edition four pin set, please contact Ron Boily. The Breakfast Club theme celebrates the weekly breakfast get togethers that many club members participated in starting back in the year 2005. The title “Breakfast Club” was given to our group by one of our previous pin club members from Sydney, Australia. All of us are looking forward to the days when our restaurants can re-open again. For members who didn’t attend the breakfasts but love to collect rare pins, this rare limited edition set will make a great addition to your Winnipeg Pin Collectors Club pin set. When the artwork for the pin set becomes available, it will be shown to all pin club members in one of our future monthly emails to all members.
Due to Covid-19, there are no plans to hold any pin club meetings for at least the 1st six months of 2021. When it is safe to do so, the pin club will consider holding its 1st meeting of 2021. Noone can predict exacty when that might be. I am encouraging all pin club members to please consider reaching out to their fellow pin club members either by email or phone or by mail in order to do some pin trading. Contact information is provided to all pin club members in the form of the 2021 WPCC membership list. I wish all of you the very best.
